Mera Mandir sets new records at Diwali - Oct 2012

Hindu Mandir of Minnesota celebrated 2012 Diwali Event at the Kennedy High School in Bloomington MN.

Over 1100 people attended. It was a 'sold out' event.

Thanks to hundreds of passionate volunteers, active parents, excited youngsters.

Mandir thanks everyone for coming and making it a 'beautiful' event. And that includes Governor Mark Dayton.

We want to share a few pictures from the event. Picture is worth thousand words. Hence, no picture captions.

Sixth Anniversary and Ratha Yatra - a 3 day celebration

When: Friday - Saturday - Sunday - June 22,23,24

Friday evening 6 PM to 8:30 PM
Saturday - morning 8:30 AM to 12 Noon evening 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Sunday - morning 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

During the Ratha Yatra on Sunday, in addition to the Ratha Yatra all the min-temple mini-vigrahas will be taken out for the procession.

What is Ratha Yatra?

Ratha Yatra (Oriya: ରଥଯାତ୍ରା) is a huge Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath held at Puri in the state of Orissa, India during the months of June or July. Most of the city's society is based around the worship of Jagannath with the ancient temple being the fulcrum of the area. The festival commemorates Lord Jagannath's annual visit to Gundicha mata's temple via aunt's home (Mausi Maa Temple which is near Balagandi Chaka in Puri).

Maha Rudram - June 8,9,10,2012 - Fri-Sat-Sun

The Hindu Temple of Minnesota invites you and your family to participate in the 'Maha Rudram' 3-day celebrations at the Mandir in Maple Grove Minnesota. Every year our Mandir creates a major religious event. Rudram is our major event for this year.
